my sister texted me last night with an invitation to watch our dad give his first ever public talk.
i don't live particularly near to my family, but i'm not too far from them to make the journey, and i am on good terms with them, having never been baptised and so not disfellowshipped; they don't shun me and likely wouldn't even if i were disfellowshipped, it's not in their character.. i haven't been inside a kingdom hall since 2006, and i would like to keep it that way; i only intend to step inside one again in the event of a family wedding or funeral service.
i don't want to be rude to my sister, ignoring the text isn't an option, so i need a diplomatic way of declining her invitation.. i've considered saying that i'm busy, but this leaves things open for her to ask again in the future, and i'd rather she got the message that i'm not interested, without me having to say so in an explicit way.. any suggestions from those who have been in a similar situation?.
but the thought of being in a kingdom hall and listening to (even a mere 30 minutes of) the watchtower's propaganda makes me feel quite unwell,
thats exactly how i would reply. emphasise how in the last 12 years youve had a great life..well away from the wt--and never felt better.
i was thinking about how the borg screws up and sexually neuters their flock by telling them when single to "deaden their body" and then boom as soon as there's a ring on the finger to not be denying eachother.. do any of you know of jws who have been screwed up by these teachings?
i know 2, 1 elder came back from honeymoon having a nervous breakdown unable to cope with the cd that sex produced in his head.
and the other called up her parents while on honeymoon, crying and begging for themto come and get her, since she was so shocked that sex hurt.
i'm lucky--i shook off all that cult repression and control as soon as my first wife chucked me out. straight into an anything goes live in relationship with the j-dub woman i had an affair with ( she got d/f for it ).. that lasted about a year--then i went free fall into casuals for a couple of years till i met wife to be 2.
that 2nd marriage lasted 23 years till she sadly died at a young 58. i was pretty well monogamous during those years.
after her death i got involved with wife to be 3--married a year after we met. bad mistake--for various reasons. i then went back into free fall mode again--in my 60's!
been married to wife 4 for 2 years now--shes 22 years younger than me, and has a very healthy sex drive that keeps me more than satisfied.
i reckon in the 50 years ive been sexually active ( from 20 to 70 ) ive bedded about 50 women, which for a bloke is about average i would think.

we were both teenage pioneers--me a servant. enjoyed very heavy petting for a couple of years befor we got married--me 20--her 19 ( a born in bossy spoiled brat ) technical virgins till our wedding night. what a disappointment that was. she was so slack i couldnt touch the sides ( or was i under endowed ). still managed to do about 10 strokes though.
there was this really lovely old geezer in a congregation i was in here in the uk.. he was an old bloke and very frit of giving talks and that.

in 2 weeks we will be announcing major changes in northern ohio congregations and there is quite the buzz in the area about it.
just talked to a jdub from the detroit area that just underwent similar changes, and they mentioned it has been "quite exciting" to get to meet new brothers and sisters.
so besides the cash benefit of selling a couple kingdom halls in the process.
the dubs are getting really excited--the end will come any day now--and the rest of mankind will all be murdered by their loving god.
his city seems pretty dangerous especially since he has taken over and of course he just loves trump.

my first wife--a born in, shuns her d/f son. but it got him and i back together. hes a great bloke--lovely wife--a 3 year old son..own business--great lifestyle with loads of friends.
so--its her loss. but then she is just a control freak.
yesterday i drove passed a town a couple of hours from my home and saw this kh under construction.
this is the first new design kh i've seen in washington state even though i would think by now another one or two have been built.
maybe not with their financial situation being the way it is.
I'm sure that makes Jehovah sad.

you would think that would be fairly easy to verify or disprove in this day and age.
